Attempted vandalism by women at Birtamod's Mukti Chowk, chanting "Raja au desh nau"

Jhapa, October 2 — A woman tried to vandalize a salik with a machete at Mukti Chowk in Birtamod, Jhapa. Locals immediately arrested him and informed the police. According to the witness, the woman said, "Who made this salik? King come and build the country, you can't adopt a leader!" Shouting slogans, she approached Salik and tried to vandalize it. It is said that the local people who were present at the scene immediately intervened and managed to stop the incident and then the woman was handed over to the Birtamod police. The police have started preliminary investigation of the incident. According to the police, the identity of the woman has not been disclosed and it is initially suspected that she appears to be mentally unstable. Along with the vandalism attempt, a crowd of people gathered in the Muktichowk area for a while and the traffic flow was also affected. The police said that a decision on legal action will be taken only after further investigation.
